'Could the 1994 La Dominique be even better than the spectacular 1990, 1989, and 1982? An opaque purple color is followed by a sensational, pure, intense nose of overripe black-raspberries, cherries and plums. Extremely full-bodied, with layers of fruit extraction, this opulently-textured wine possesses a huge, chewy mid-section, and a blockbuster finish that nearly conceals significant tannin. This is a superb wine, and one of the stars of the vintage. It should drink well after 2-3 years of cellaring, and last for 20 years.'
