Terroir al Límit... Bei diesem tollkühnen Weinerzeuger ist der Name Programm, denn hier wird die hohe Kunst des Terroir-Weins geradezu zelebriert. Alle Weine stammen von hochgelegenen Kleinst-Parzellen, während der gesamten Vegetationsphase greift man so wenig in den Weinberg ein, wie es nur irgend geht. Strikte Handlese in 10-Kilo-Boxen, manuelle Auslese der besten Trauben, Gravitationspresse, schonende Vinifizierung und Ausbau im Fass sind hier selbstverständlich. So entstehen einige der schönsten Priorats überhaupt, nur vergleichbar mit großen Burgundern und den Einzellagenweinen von Mas Martinet. Luis Gutierrez von Robert Parker's Wine Advocat schreibt über diesen Wein: »The village red, 2013 Torroja Vi de Vila, very much reflects the conditions of the wet and late growing season in this blend of Garnacha and Cariñena sourced from a diversity of vineyards in the village of Torroja. It is a forward, fruit-driven effort with notes reminiscent of carbonic maceration since like all the reds here it undergoes semi-carbonic maceration. Fermentation was in oak vats with full clusters and indigenous yeasts and the élevage lasted some 18 moths in oak foudres crafted in Austria. With time and air it turns more serious opening up lactic hints with tons of red berries and some licorice. The medium-bodied palate has fine, earthy tannins blending a more serious, elegant character with some rusticity. As I find with all the wines from Terroir al Limit, it's not about the grapes, it's about the place. Still, the Garnacha seems to provide the bright red fruit and the Cariñena the earthy rusticity. It gets better and better in the glass. 15,000 bottles produced.« (Juni 2015)
