'Huet's brilliantly dark yellow colored 2008 Vouvray Clos du Bourg Moelleux Première Trie offers a super clear and ripe, concentrated and highly elegant, gorgeously aromatic bouquet of ripe, yellow-skinned fruits and a dusty stone and smoky bacon aromas. Sweet and full of finesse and salty minerals on the highly elegant and fruit-intense palate, this beautifully balanced Chenin develops a great tension, density and compact structure that also dominates the long and very promising finish. There is so much finesse and concentration in this wine that you can only fall in love with it. Luckily this affair will hold much longer than today\'s average marriage.'

'The Domaine Huet in Vouvray is one of the few world class producers in the Loire Valley. Its reputation was built by 1910-born Gaston Huet and the Le Haut Lieu, a top single vineyard site that was bought by his parents in 1928 with three hectares under vines, all Chenin Blanc.'

'This 6-hectare 'Clos', surrounded by stone walls, is located on the first slopes above the church in Vouvray. In the 7th century, this was a fiefdom owned by the Saint Martin collegiate church in Tours. The rather thin soil, only about one metre in depth, lies in direct contact with the non-active limestone. Le Clos du Bourg produces a powerful and well-structured wine.'
