'(two barrels produced, vs. a normal five; from the bottom part of the vineyard, which was once part of Musigny): Good deep medium bright ruby. Blackberry, licorice pastille, violet and blood orange on the piercing, expressive nose. Dense, sweet and primary, with a powerful acid structure keeping the crushed dark berry and mineral flavors under wraps today. This very young, backward wine should be spectacular with eight or ten years of bottle age.'

'The 2010 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d´Orveaux is rich, lush and totally seductive. Waves of expressive red fruit flow effortlessly as this textured, gorgeous Chambolle builds to its explosive, mineral-drenched finish. I especially like the intense salinity that is woven throughout the fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030.'

'The upper part of the Combe d'Orveau contains more stones and outcropping rocks which bring finesse and mineral qualities. In the lower part, near Musigny, finer soils containing more silt make the wines richer, more intense and fresher. The ultra cuvee Chambolle Musigny Premier Cru La Combe d'Orveau is produced from the oldest part of this vineyard which is adjacent to Musigny.'
