89+/100 PP \'The opaque purple-colored 2006 Kalimna Shiraz offers a complex aromatic array of toasty oak, pepper, smoked meat, game, and blueberry. On the palate it is structured and a bit compact, albeit with ripe blue and black fruit flavors. Another 2-3 years of cellaring may round it out at which point it should merit an outstanding rating. Solitary Vineyards is a joint venture of ADW and a group of Barossa Valley wine aficionados to make small lot, single varietal wines from the finest Barossa sites. The wines are made at the outstanding Pikes Winery in Clare Valley under the direction of Neil Pike.\' (Robert M. Parker, Jr., robertparker.com)
