'Another terrific 2013 that might be a candidate for the wine of the vintage, Stephane’s 2013 Côte Rôtie Cuvee Belle Helene has a serious, backward feel to go with notions of liquid smoke, pepper, crushed rock, iron and ample dark fruit. Inky colored, full-bodied, concentrated and structured, it’s certainly not for those seeking instant gratification and will need 7-8 years or cellaring. This cuvee comes from the oldest vines of the estate, which are located just above the vines used for the Lancement cuvee. Despite the proximity, the two cuvees couldn’t be more different.'
